Louise sat down to tell us all about her career, her inimitable style, her life in LA, and her beautiful family…
WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
My husband Mackenzie and baby daughter, Honor
WHERE IS YOUR HAPPY PLACE?
With them, playing in the garden, watching Mackenzie make Honor laugh. She has a wicked giggle.
WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO AT THE MOMENT?
French Chill playlist on Spotify. Sounds cheesy, but it creates the best atmosphere!
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST GUILTY PLEASURE?
Red wine, Vanderpump Rules, and other trashy TV
WHAT’S IN YOUR HANDBAG TODAY?
My Smythson diary (always!), phone, Bobbi Brown lipstick, keys, hairbands, and probably a baby teething toy.
WHAT’S YOUR MOST PRIZED POSSESSION?
Beautiful black and white family photos, framed and on my bedside table. One is of Honor and I on the beach in Florida, taken by Mackenzie. One is of our wedding day, and one is actually a phone shot I took of Honor and Mackenzie, sleeping together.
WHO’S YOUR FAVOURITE PERSON ON THE GRAM?
Jo Rodgers ( @jo_rodgers ) a beautiful writer with inspiring pics
WHAT’S YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
On a day-to-day basis, very simple and relaxed, with a little bit of tailoring thrown in.
WHO’S YOUR STYLE ICON?
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?
An interior designer
HOW WOULD YOU HAVE ANSWERED THAT WHEN YOU WERE A KID?
Probably the same! And also Madonna’s backing dancer
WHAT’S THE ONE PIECE OF CAREERS ADVICE YOU WISH YOU’D BEEN GIVEN?
I was lucky enough to be given brilliant advice at school, from my parents, and that was to work very hard, get lots of work experience, keep up with all those contacts, and my dad always told me I’d have my own business one day, he predicted it!
WHAT’S YOUR PARENTING STYLE?
I don’t know that we have a ‘style’, some days I’m probably over protective (Honor is sick right now and it’s the worst feeling, my anxiety is through the roof), but my husband is unbelievable at dissipating that by making everybody laugh, a lot.
WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER ONE MUM HACK?
Baby Mori sleepsuits, I discovered them when Honor was tiny – they’re the softest, warmest thing ever and she doesn’t sleep in anything else. I give them to all my friends when they have babies!
WHAT’S THE WORST DECISION YOU’VE EVER MADE?
WHAT’S YOUR PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT?
100% becoming a mummy.
WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION?
I’m surrounded by powerful, successful women – some of whom are also mums – my best friends in England, business owners like Anine Bing, Ashleigh Dempster from Akid brand, Hillary Kerr, India Hicks, Rebecca de Ravenel, Anita Patrickson. They all inspire me.
WHAT KEEPS YOU UP AT NIGHT?
Anything, if I let it. I’m a bad sleeper and that’s often when I do my worrying. So I keep a pen and paper by the bed and write things down to get them out of my head. It usually works.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU TODAY?
It’s Saturday morning, hooray! So we are off for family bagels and brunch.
AND THIS YEAR?
Travel! To the wine country, to England, to Mexico. Some exciting work projects, including some brand new territory for me.
